And I only have 2 sisters. Erica and McKayla. Not sure how that gets confused! But.. hey! It’s nice to see the fam on tumblr. What’s up yall?

Paramore split

For anyone that is interested, Paramore have split, with the Farro brothers leaving the band. Sad to see them go but wish them luck in all future endeavours…

Don’t worry though, Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor are keeping the band going so it isn’t over, thankfully

This is true

Talked about this the other day. People care too much about documenting experiences rather than enjoy them while they happen.

Love everything that this stands for.

If the technology is there to help us remember, why wouldn’t we use it? Memory fades, facts become distorted and change to opinion or what people think happened. I’m all for documenting concerts and other shows. That way you can enjoy it and experience it at the time as well as 20 years down the line. By recording or taking photos, you can enjoy it years later as it was, not a romanticised version of the show. Things will always go wrong, but that’s one of the great things about live music, it’s real! Not manufactured in a studio (not that some people can’t do it first time in the studio). Without a camera, it’s just a highlights reel in a few years, not a memory of everything in the show. A good example is when Hayley Williams tripped coming out to perform at Nottingham. It’s fresh in my head now but give it a few years and I’ll never remember it unless I watch my videos back. Although it is annoying when someone has a camera in your face the whole night, but it’s the 21st century…you can’t honestly believe that won’t happen no matter where you go and who you see.

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

My video taken from the crowd at Paramore on their U.K tour of B.o.B and Hayley Williams performing “Airplanes”. The camera work isn’t the best, but it just isn’t always possible to get great shots when you are getting knocked from all directions (and some idiot tried to start a fight with me half way through). More to come when possible, enjoy!

Sound on the 1st video didn’t work…

Testing testes? You have a boyfriend! Just because you are on tour in another country, doesn’t mean you can get up to that kind of thing :P

The price of fame…

Celebrities are everywhere. Whether it is doing what made them famous or doing something that is completely detached from it, but at what cost to the person. I say this because, in the vast majority of cases, the celebrity we all see is not the person but the brand they have created out of themselves. But what happens when the person just wants to do what they want to, or be the person they used to be? Sorry, but that just can’t happen. That has been the unwritten clause in every contract they have ever signed, and I feel for them. How would you feel with somebody watching your every move until you did something that the world could very publicly criticise? Don’t get me wrong, I know that this was their choice going in, and that they were well aware of the sacrifices they made but it would be interesting to see how many celebrities would genuinely consider going back if they were given the opportunity.

It seems odd that privacy is so high on a lot of peoples agenda, but nearly all of us want to be famous. I know I would.

Inspiration

Inspiration in life can be found anywhere in life, from something you see, something you hear or even something that you wish was different. This inspiration can be drawn from something good or something bad but none of that matters, it’s what you are inspired to do that makes the difference. The many classic works of art, writing and music, as well as recent works, were all created through what inspired the creator, be something as simple as sunflowers in the case of van Gogh or very complex emotions that can be seen throughout many literary works by many authors over hundreds if years. What us interesting is that often the things that inspire many of us today are these works of art, books or songs and so the creators original inspiration transcends the generations, even if people don’t realise it.

There are many sources of inspiration but whether they inspire good or bad can be down to you. The best thing you can do is to take the inspiration and, regardless of what it is, make it into something good that will improve the world you live in, not tear it, and yourself, apart. After all the biggest source of inspiration for many comes from those around, friends and family, and they don’t want to see you hurt so just try and turn it into a positive.

Inspiration can come from tragedy and in this case, it is better to put own to page, brush to canvas or pick up an instrument and get it out, into something physical that you can see or hear, because as cliched as it may sound, it does help and can even make you feel better by immortalising the tragedy in a physical embodiment rather than bottling it up until you snap.

If you are still with me, then thank you because I know I have been going in for a while now but I will end with a very recent quote from someone who I look up to and is not only a role model to many but she is of significant importance to me for reasons I won’t go into right now. She is my inspiration for creating this post and so deserves a mention, even if she will never know.

“The world can be a lonely place but it would be lonelier without you in it” - Hayley Williams.

Next time you feel at your lowest point, think of this. Proof that there is always someone who cares.
